Sarah Ramsey M.A. CCC-SLP
Hello, my name is Sarah and I started my practice, Connected Speech & Language PLLC, in 2024. After 17 years of working in a variety of settings, I knew it would be the right fit to fulfill my passion of working with children and families in our community and have flexibility for my family. I am a certified member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and am licensed to practice in the state of North Carolina. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies from Auburn University in 2004 and my Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from Appalachian State University in 2007. I have practiced speech therapy in a number of settings, including: public schools, camps for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, early intervention, home health and private practice. The majority of my experience has been working with toddlers, preschoolers and school-aged children with a variety of disorders including: receptive/expressive language disorders, articulation/phonological disorders, apraxia of speech, stuttering, autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, auditory processing disorders and other developmental delays.
I believe deeply that when we are connected to others, our lives feel full and have meaning. Effective communication skills are a vital part of making connections. Communication looks different for everyone and I am committed to providing individualized therapy that will help children and families find ways of enhancing communication skills and reaching potential.
I live in Boone with my husband and two kids. We enjoy spending time pursuing all the adventures that living in the mountains bring. We also love reading, cooking, having dance parties and just hanging out at home together.
